Welcome to our vacation home in Palm Springs
Your hosts at Nici's Pool House - Bert and Berlynn Simonis
We've been coming to Palm Springs on vacation since 1997. Every year, we extended our vacations and stayed longer and longer in this wonderful climate. We started renting vacation homes in 2001 near Ruth Hardy Park. Over the years, we've stayed in a lot of wonderful homes in some of Palm Springs' best neighborhoods such as Movie Colony, Racquet Club Estates and Deepwell.
We also discovered the difference between a home that a property manager threw together from an inventory list, and a home that was lovingly assembled by the owners.
As we set out to find the perfect home that we could share with guests, we discovered this mid-century jewel, designed by architect Hugh M. Kaptur. We set about bringing it back to its 1961 glory and feel that the original owners and Mr. Kaptur would be proud of how it looks today.
We enjoy our home and enjoy sharing it with you. We have done our utmost to make it comfortable for your vacation. For example, you'll find everything that you need in the kitchen to cook a complete meal. Baking pans, measuring spoons, a lemon reamer, garlic press, electric mixer - if you need it, you'll find it.
To us, comfort also means privacy. We've enclosed the back yard and planted hedges and trees so that you'll feel like you are in your own oasis and no one will bother you.
We've also enjoyed making each of the rooms in the house unique. If you spend the night in The Pool Room and watch movies until the sun comes up, we've accomplished our goal. Or, if you decide to read a book on the couch in the Master Suite... and end up taking a nap - then we've also accomplished our goal.
We bring our Miniature Dachshunds on vacation with us, and have made the backyard friendly for small dogs. We know your dogs are members of your family and we want you to enjoy them. Poolside is where we spend most of our days and we have not spared our efforts there. The best is a morning cup of coffee in the Desert Garden when it is quiet and we can hear the world wake up. Try it.
